Bad raw supers: don't mind me just trying to fill this section up with anything. Slow special moves: Her special moves are either slow to come out, slow to recover, or both. Keep away: As strong as her runaway is, her tools don't let her actually play keepaway. Nowhere near as difficult as say, Magneto. Learning curve: She’s a little hard to learn, key word being little. Winning matchups: Effective against many top-tier shells like Strider/Doom, and one of the few characters capable of shutting down Cable. Horizontal typhoon: Fullscreen-travelling projectile that becomes invincible after it’s sent out, meaning it will get to the other side of the screen no matter what. Lightning Storm DHC combos: can two-touch a character sometimes, very easy to setup. Hail storm DHC: Her Hail Storm hyper combo is the safest super in the game to DHC into thanks to having 0 recovery, while also doing decent chip on block. Fly mode is situational but still good to have. Float + Fly mode: Storm's the only character who can slowly float to the ground by holding up while in air. Air dominance: A good storm will win most air-to-air interactions and force you to stay grounded. 8-way air dash: One of the few characters in the game to possess an 8-way air dash, giving her almost full control of the screen. Meter build: Flying off the screen and whiffing jHP repeatedly can build nearly a full bar of meter by the time Storm's floated back down into most character's range. Rushdown/runaway: Multiple air mobility options, great damage and disjoints on even her light buttons allow her to easily jump from offense and defense, and can keep things unpredictable. There isn't an area where she is greatly lacking and she can fit into nearly any team Storm is a jack of all trades and master of all of them Storm can easily keep opponents at bay with her Whirlwind and Typhoon attacks and her ability to fly helps to keep her out of harm's way.Ī lack of any major weaknesses makes Storm a top 2 character in every tier list, with most choosing her as the definitive best character in MvC 2, due to her ability to excel at everything from solo play to team support. Her combo attacks, both ground and air, are potent and inflict solid damage, especially when chained into her Ice Storm Hyper Combo as well as possessing decent priority. She can be played both aggressively and defensively, possessing a variety of ways to close in on opponents. Storm is quite possibly the most versatile of all the Marvel characters in the game. Growing up as an orphaned thief on the streets of Cairo, Egypt, she would use her newfound abilities to aid local farmers as a teenager during droughts by summoning rain and eventually help protect the world from various threats alongside the X-Men. She is a mutant born with the ability to control and manipulate the weather at her will.
